Orion the Magnificent Through the Years

https://dailypost.wordpress.com/photo-challenges/variations-on-a-theme

Orion my Dogo Argentino is magnificent. He was given to me by a neighbor the night before I moved to Villa Migelita.

He had 4 homes before he came to me. He is a very delicate dog, although he looks fierce. He has broken two bones, his skin is problematic and he is always needing attention by the veterinarian for some reason. Here are some of my favorite photos of Orion. He is now almost 8 years old. I have lived in Colombia since 2011. He was a young guy when I adopted him. Enjoy the beauty of Orion, my big boy.

I am an American who moved to Colombia to find peace after the devastating loss of my daughter. I bought and renovated a Villa, am learning Spanish, and writing as catharsis. This blog will be like a book with chapters. Each blog will be about my life in Colombia and my adventures. I hope you will enjoy the many new discoveries I am making every day about myself and another culture.

  1. A gentle giant! Orion is such a sweet dog! I was laughing and showing Terry the picture with Lucy in it, telling him how little Lucy would run all the dogs around the yard, even great big Orion! I love all your babies!

    1. His new thing is to eat bananas. He is crazy for bananas. LOL I have to watch it because he gets a little overweight. Thanks John, and Luci bit Orion on the tail really hard one day. He did nothing but move his tail, they all stay away from her. M

  2. Wow… The first thing that anyone notices about the Dogo Argentino is its striking white coat; this is not commonly seen in the Mastiff family. This is one of the few breeds that come in only one colour i.e. white. This is what makes them unique in the world. This standard color was given to them to ensure that the hunters could easily spot them in the tricky terrain of Argentina.
